Minecraft

Totally forgot to write about Minecraft in the last post so I'll just dedicate a new post to it.
Minecraft is an online game that's currently in alpha stages. It is basically a very very simplified/minimalistic MMORPG where you can build up a world of your own with your friends... actually it doesn't even have any RPG elements in it. Right now it's just a game when you and your friends can run around and build a world out of blocks.
The creators are working on implementing a lot of new stuff to the game like a survival mode, enemies, growing trees, and even an anaglyph mode where you can play the game wearing red and blue 3-D glasses! The game is really minimalistic, and features really nice music that fits the style, all making for a very fun and childlike experience of building and exploring other people's virtual environments.

Here's a short gameplay video + a video of some of the new features in the latest update

And here's some photos from some stuff my friends & I built...

The game is free right now and so far the only thing that buying an account does for you (I believe) is lets you make your own skin. But it's being sold for half-off (about $15) while it's still in alpha stages.

Cool animation + games

I guess on a similar note, yall seen this video game coming out for Wii?

good stuff... while we're at it the Katamari guys are making a new game called Noby Noby Boy that looks pretty crazy. Looks sort of like a cross between Katamari + Snake + ???

Other stuff I'm looking forward to is APB (cops and robbers game made by the GTA guys) and id's new game, R.A.G.E...

K-POP = next big thing?

So I've pretty much listened to "Tell Me" about 50 times today. I may not know a single word of Korean* but something about this song really makes me like it. I even like the video.
(*Edit: I remembered this is actually wrong, the word for mom and dad sound a lot like the words in Hebrew...Ima/Aba, Ema/Apa I think?)

Apparently Wonder Girls are now touring with the god-awful Jonas Brothers throughout America. Originally I thought this was because they're a Christian band, and many Korean people are Christian, so it kind of made sense (in my head), but my bff Alicia pointed out it's actually a genius marketing approach.

Nazi gnomes

A piece by German artist and head of Nuremberg's Academy of Fine Arts Ottmar Hörl is causing controversy in Nuremberg. Hörl says his work is meant to "poke fun" at Nazism and claims that it was not him who set up the work in Nuremberg but a collector who had bought the piece.

The photo on the right is from an earlier exhibition by the artist in Belgium, titled Dance of/with the Devil. You can see twelve other photos of the exhibit here.

Here's the BBC story about it, which includes a photo of the golden version of the gnome which is causing the controversy. Some of the artist's less controversial works can be found on his site.

So what do yall think? Is the piece offensive or is it a legitimate way to talk about something? Or just plain bad taste?
